How To Set Up A Proper Interview

If you want to look like a professional when doing an interview you should probably read these tips.

1.) Know your interviewee before the interview schedule a time to meet up and get more comfortable with them. So during the interview it is easier to ask the questions.

2.) When editing the video leave out your voice and have the interviewee restate the question. It is informal for you to have your voice in the video.

3.) Do research on the subject of the interview and do research on the person you're interviewing. Because you do not want to go into the interview not knowing anything. Because maybe during the interview you come up with new questions to ask.

4.) Prepare your set ahead of time so your interviewee is not waiting. Have correct lighting and OTS shot of interview.

5.) It is okay to deviate from your questions and ask questions that you thought of. Have questions already made so you don't go in winging the whole interview.

That is how to be a professional when doing a interview. Hope these helped you. Practice makes perfect and be confident in what you of. It will take you a long way.

Olathe Northwest Girls Volleyball 10-24-14

This is all my work and I did all the editing, b-roll, voiceovers, etc. Overall I think it was a good package. I would not say its my best work, but as the year progresses I will improve on packages like these.

ONW A&E Electrathon

I worked on this package with my friend Sean McPartland. I was the one asking the questions in the interview, and I also got the B-roll for the shots. I think this is one of my best work I have done here in the e-Communications program.

ONW Now: Gameday Sept 17th, 2014

This was my first Gameday Northwest. I was very nervous, but after this I feel a lot more comfortable. What I can improve on is my flow of my voice when I am talking and be a little more relaxed. Overall I thought I did well for it being my first time hosting. I will be hosting continuously throughout the year.

ONW Now: Gameday Sept 24th, 2014

I was apart of the Olathe Northwest Gameday show. I think I could have acted more relaxed and a little less tense. Overall I thought I did pretty well. Another thing I could improve on is the flow of when I am talking, maybe less stutters. I hope to be more comfortable in later shows I am hosting.

Whether or not they are successful this season is up to them. We have high standards this year.”

Coach's Bio: Barry Lenth

ONW Head volleyball coach Barry Lenth is looking to go all the way this year. Heading into his 3rd season, he is hoping that the 3rd time is the charm. Each year they inch closer and closer to reaching the state final. Last season Coach Lenth led his varsity volleyball team all the way to the sub-state championship. Winning the championship, and going into state. Only to finish in 4th (Best Finish in School history). Coach Lenth has not only head coached the ONW volleyball team, but he was also a Club head volleyball coach. He led his old volleyball club team to 5th place at the USAV Jr. National Championships. Coach Lenth’s overall record as the ONW Volleyball head coach is an amazing 60-29. Coach Lenth’s winning percentage as head coach is .517. Lenth’s varsity volleyball team had a 33-12 final record. Capping off a successful season. Coach Lenth only looks to make that better than what it already is.
"I have a great group of girls this year. We will be successful if we play as a unit. We control whether or not we want to be good or not." Said Lenth.
"Best team of girls I have ever had at ONW. They remind me of the club teams I had." Said Lenth.

Player Profile: Jaiden Chase

Finding a freshman playing 6A Varsity sports isn't very likely in the Sunflower League. The Olathe Northwest volleyball team, however, has a standout freshman who makes a big impact on the court.

Jaiden Chase is the starting lIbero for the Ravens, and has been playing that position since first grade. Her first start came against nationally-ranked St. James Academy in the season opener.
"It was nerve wracking because we were playing Saint James and they're number one in the nation, but it was a great experience."

Chase has high hopes for the season as she wants to win the state title, and thinks they can with the leadership of Tess Reid and Maddie Schneider.

"Tess (Reid) and Maddie (Schneider) are the leaders and they work hard and know what they're doing, so if we follow behind their leadership I think we have a great shot."

Chase believes they can accomplish their goals if they come together as a team and fix the mental mistakes.
"With the great group of girls I play with, we can accomplish anything and I know we will have a successful season this year."

ONW vs. OE Volleyball Preview

One of the most anticipated games of the season is today for the Girls'  Volleyball  team as they face off against Olathe East. Last year the Lady Ravens suffered a close defeat to Olathe East, Losing by only a couple of points.
"Tomorrow's game is not the biggest game, I would say St. James was the biggest game for us. But definitely the most exciting game and intense game we will all season just because they are our biggest results." Said Megan Kuper.

"It is going to be a very close game, because we both have great coaches and players. It will be a great game. Really good talent to compete with." Said Kuper.
"We don't have any new tactics we will be doing for the game. We are just going to play the way we usually do." Said Kuper
The Lady Ravens are not backing down or intimated by playing Olathe East, if anything they are going to play harder and come out strong.
Maddie Schneider is most excited for the game, so the Ravens volleyball team can get revenge from last years defeat.
"I think we have a really good chance this year of beating them out, because we are stronger and better this year. I'm really excited for the game. Last year each time we faced them we lost by only a couple points. So this year we will turn that around and finish the job." Said Schneider.
The Lady Ravens volleyball team is determined to beat Olathe East this season. They are confident this is the year they will win.

Q&A With Tyanna Omazic: Varsity Volleyball

Tyanna Omazic is a sophomore here at Olathe Northwest, and she is on the varsity volleyball team, and has been since freshmen year. She has been playing competitive volleyball for almost 4 years and seems to be a natural at the sport.
