Signing Day at Olathe Northwest

I edited and filmed some of this video. The shots are not the greatest but I feel that I am improving on my editing skills.

ONW elective classes

In this video it is also showing my camera work with shots I took of a art class. I have been working on the six-shot system and sequencing. Not my best work but I am working on it. I hope to continue and improve on my filming.

Olathe Northwest volleyball spike night

This was Olathe Northwest first annual spike night. The event consist of eight teams, and if a team loses they are eliminated. Although in this video I did not do the voiceover I did film the entire event. This is my camera work and I have developed some techniques on how to keep the camera still and not shaky without a tripod.

Lady hoops travel to Lawrence free state

Picking up heat these last three games have been crucial for the Lady Ravens basketball team. Currently on a three game win streak, the ladies look to keep going strong tonight at Lawrence Free State.
The team's record is 4-2, with a 67% winning percentage.
The basketball team has had success in their perimeter game, setting a record high 15 three's in a game against Truman. The previous record was 13 set a couple years back.
The Ravens have played well the last three games. Their game plan for the season has so far paid off with fast break offense, while also running an intriguing style of play, subbing every 45 seconds.
Lawrence Free State has a 5-1 record thus far this season, totaling to a 83% winning record. Though they have not scored as many points as the Ravens, 299 points forced, their defense has been on point only allowing 272 points. But they will be facing tough competition with the unique style of play the Ravens bring to the table.
The game will be interesting considering both teams have a good record.
This will be a tough road test, but there is no doubt that the Ravens basketball team will come out  strong. The girls will look to keep their hot shooting hand tonight.
Come out and support your Ravens Girl's and Boy's basketball team tonight at 5:30pm and 7pm at Lawrence Free State.

Comeback falls short

A comeback fell short for the Lady Ravens as they traveled to Lawrence Free State Friday night.
From the start of the game, the Lady Ravens found themselves chasing the Firebirds. Down at the half 26 to 20, the girl's basketball team had a resurgence and tried to pull off a comeback. The game's final score ended 59 to 63.
At the end of the 3rd quarter the game seemed to be over with the Firebirds up 48 to 30 on the Ravens.
"We got a lot of good looks and rebounds but we did not convert on a lot of them, which cost us in the end," Branstrom said.
The Lady Ravens were down big multiple times in the game. They tried crawling back, but could not dig themselves out of the hole they put themselves in.
"We went from scoring only 30 points in the first half to scoring 29 points just in the 4th quarter. We dug back but in the end it wasn't enough," Branstrom said. "At practice we do a drill where we put a minute and ten seconds on the clock and we go up and down the court trying to get a minimum of 15 points. Majority of the time we make the 15 points but we want to try and get 16 or 17 or 18 points consistently."
Coach Branstrom was upset about the loss, but was more proud that his team fought back and stayed calm. The Ravens played good basketball to lead to their comeback.
"As a team, everyone contributed to the comeback. But Shaleia Jamison knocked down 3 or 4 three points. All together we were 8 of 11 just in the 4th quarter. Shaleia not only knocked down three's but also got in the paint. Defensively Ashley Heller came up big and shut them down. But all together we played well," Branstrom said.
The Lady Ravens look to shake off there game from Friday night and come out strong in their next game.
